Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of presenting another person’s work, ideas, or words as one’s own without proper attribution. It includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, data, images, or ideas from previously published works without appropriate citation.
- Paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s work without acknowledgment.
- Self-plagiarism, i.e., reusing significant portions of one’s previously published work without disclosure.
Policy and Procedures
- Originality Requirement
Submissions to International Journal of Transdisciplinary Research and Perspectives must be the authors’ original work and must not have been published elsewhere, in whole or in part, except in the form of an abstract or academic thesis. - Screening
All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. - Consequences of Plagiarism
- Minor Overlap: If minor textual overlap (less than 10%) is detected, authors will be asked to ensure proper citation.
- Significant Plagiarism: If significant plagiarism is identified (over 10%), the manuscript will be rejected.
- Post-Publication Discovery: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be published in the journal.
- Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for properly citing the work of others. By submitting to International Journal of Transdisciplinary Research and Perspectives, authors affirm that their work is free from plagiarism.
